The Greek Tourism Ministry is currently working with marketing experts Repositioning Greece to formulate a comeback strategy in the aftermath of Covid-19, said Tourism Minister Harry Theoharis.
Speaking to TV channel Action 24, Theoharis said the far-reaching plan includes, among other means, videos and slogans that aim to re-introduce Greece to future travelers.
The minister underlined the importance of focusing on the “day after Covid-19” with the discovery of a vaccination that will be easily accessible and which will contribute to returning to “normalcy” but also on the possibility that such a drug may not be found in due time.
Greece has been at the forefront in terms of managing the spread of the virus as well as opening up to tourism while maintaining safety for travelers, professionals and locals, he said.
“With great effort and good coordination, we managed to open our borders to tourism in a very difficult year. We are working feverishly for next summer, having as defense rapid antigen tests as the market must continue to operate without horizontal bans and quarantine measures,” said Theoharis.
“We can have faster procedures if we conduct tests at entrance gates or before plane boarding. We can have more security and more speed. Our country is at the forefront with the entry system – EVA code,” he added.
